1. Who this policy covers
This policy explains how Lingomory (“we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information when you use the Lingomory mobile app or visit this website. If you have a question about this policy or your information, use our contact form.
2. Information kept on your device
Lingomory saves your learning progress locally on your device. This includes completed levels, stars, word-learning progress, sound and haptic preferences, pack-unlock preferences, session count, and limited review-prompt timing.
This on-device information is used only to operate the app, remember your settings, show your progress, and choose useful review cards. It is not uploaded to us as your full progress record. You can erase it using Reset progress in Lingomory’s Settings. Removing the app may also remove its local data, subject to your device’s backup behavior.
3. Anonymous product analytics
We use Amplitude to understand whether levels are clear, useful, and appropriately challenging. Lingomory sends a randomly assigned analytics identifier and limited usage events, including:
- app session and lifecycle events;
- level starts, completions, failures, and exits;
- pack and level identifiers, game mode, board size, score, stars, moves, mistakes, progress, and duration;
- stable curriculum word identifiers involved in a mistake, so we can find confusing content; and
- basic app and device information normally provided by the analytics software, such as app version, operating system, device type, and language.
The app does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, account, membership, or subscription. Analytics events do not include the translated words displayed on a card or any text entered by you. Advertising identifiers, precise location, carrier information, attribution tracking, and IP address as an analytics property are disabled. Lingomory does not use session replay.
Analytics is sent to Amplitude’s European Union data region and is used only to understand app performance and improve learning content and gameplay. Amplitude acts as our analytics service provider. You can read Amplitude’s privacy notice for more information.
4. The website
This website does not use cookies, advertising trackers, or analytics scripts. If you submit the contact form, we collect the name, email address, topic, and message you choose to provide so we can understand and respond to your request. Please do not include passwords or other sensitive information.
Netlify hosts this website and processes contact-form submissions on our behalf, including spam filtering and storage in our site dashboard. Netlify may also process ordinary request information, such as IP address and browser type, to deliver and secure the site. You can read Netlify’s privacy notice for more information.
5. How we use information
We use the limited information described above to provide the game, save local progress, respond to support requests, understand where players encounter difficulty, improve levels and learning content, prevent abuse, and maintain app reliability. We do not sell personal information and do not use it for targeted advertising.
6. Sharing
We share anonymous usage data with Amplitude only for product analytics and contact-form information with Netlify only to host, protect, and process the form. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a business reorganization subject to appropriate safeguards. We do not share information with advertising networks or data brokers.
7. Retention and deletion
On-device progress remains until you reset it, remove the app, or your device removes it. Analytics is retained only for as long as reasonably needed to evaluate and improve Lingomory, after which it is deleted or aggregated. Contact-form submissions and support messages are kept only as long as needed to answer the request and maintain necessary records.
You may request access to or deletion of information through our contact form. Because Lingomory has no accounts or memberships and analytics is pseudonymous, we may need additional information to locate a record and may not always be able to connect an email address with an anonymous analytics identifier.
8. Children’s privacy
Lingomory uses data minimization: it has no accounts, memberships, subscriptions, ads, public profiles, or direct messaging, and it disables advertising and location identifiers in analytics. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided personal information directly to us, please use the contact form so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
9. Security and international processing
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the limited information we handle. No system can guarantee absolute security. Product analytics is configured for processing in Amplitude’s EU data region; Netlify, support email providers, and other website infrastructure may process information in other countries under their own safeguards.
10. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing, or to complain to a local data-protection authority. You can reset local progress in the app at any time. To make a privacy request, use our contact form.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when Lingomory’s features or data practices change. We will post the revised version here and update the effective date. Material changes will be communicated in an appropriate way.
